I have been slowly growing my collection of markers and needed a better way to store them. I wanted to be able to group them not only by color families but also by certain color combos that I love. I also wanted to be able to take them with me when I work so I needed something functional yet portable. After trying many different options I asked my hubby to custom make me a storage case. He used scrap lumber so it isn't the exact proportions that I was hoping for but I LOVE IT! It is really working out quite nicely. It is a little heavy but that is good for me - harder to accidentally knock it onto the floor! I got the idea for this storage solution from Theresa Momber's blog Crafting the Web. Thank you Theresa it is PERFECT!
We painted it a neutral light brown color (my husband says the color reminds him of a Wendy's Frosty). Then I broke out my Gypsy and my Vinyl and decorated it up. I didn't have all the colors of vinyl to do exactly what I wanted but the great thing about vinyl is that I can redo it at any time - so this is perfect for now.
This first picture is of the storage case open and showing the top where I labeled it with my name.
This next picture shows how I decorated the back of the case.
This final picture show 1 side (both sides are decorated the same) and how the front closes for transporting.
